Hi there! My name is Elyse, and I’m 21 years old. I’m a certified personal trainer (through NASM) and I teach dance & gymnastics and indoor cycling & bootcamp. I’m currently working on an associates degree in exercise science. I love to find ways to improve my quality of life, such as healthy foods and exercising often.
In December 2012, I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. I finished 6 months of chemotherapy in June 2013 and had 3 weeks of radiation in the fall of that yera as well. Chemo has by far been the most difficult thing I’ve had to deal with in my short young adult life. It has, however, also changed my overall outlook. Life has become more fragile to me – so I won’t waste another second of it giving my body anything less than the best. I’ve become incredibly positive and upbeat, and determined to keep moving forward. I have an even greater appreciation for the gift that my life is and I will, without a doubt, make my life the best it can possibly be.
My hobbies include running, strength training, indoor cycling, hiking, yoga, singing, cooking, rock climbing, dancing, and always always always finding ways to improve myself.
Something you should probably know about me is that I spend a majority of my time with my best friend/fellow blogger, Kayla. Her and I train together 6-7 days a week, and I frequently mention her in my posts! So, if I mention ‘we’ without saying any names beforehand in the post, you can safely assume that I’m referring to Kayla and me 🙂
