How I Style My Wig

Hi guys! So when I meet people and they find out I’m wearing a wig, they’re baffled. My wig breaks the stereotype that wigs look fake, are itchy, and if they’re not real hair, you can’t style them. FALSE! My wig is really comfortable, breathable, and I can wash and style it just like regular hair, except I only need to wash it every one or two weeks.

To wash it, I brush it out first, then get it wet under the faucet in the bathtub, and I shampoo and condition it with Renpure Organics Brazilian Keratin shampoo and conditioner.

Once I pat it dry with a towel, I stick it on my wig stand and brush it out. I continue to towel dry it in small sections of hair to get as much water out as possible. I only use one product – Suave Keratin Infusion Serum. I section off the top of the hair, and apply the product to whatever hair remains.

Yes, I named my wig stand patricia 😉IMG_0993

I use a big round brush to blow dry it out in very small sections, making sure to get the roots as well to avoid frizziness.

This is what the hair looks like blow dried and uncurled

Once it’s all dry, I use my FAVORITE beauty tool of all time, my Remington 1″ curling wand. It allows you to get the perfect wavy curls that don’t look too crisp or tight. I start with the top sections and then curl the bottom sections last to complete the look.

Then, I put on the wig and make any adjustments to get the right shape to the overall look. Ready to go!!
